FC Augsburg were once again active on the transfer market on Tuesday, announcing the signing of 19 year old Venezuelan Sergio Córdova from Caracas FC. The striker has signed a five-year contract with FCA that will run until June 30th 2022. Neither club has released information on the transfer fee.
“In Sergio Córdova, we’ve signed a young talent for FCA, who clearly displayed his talent at the U20s World Cup. We’re convinced he’ll succeed in the Bundesliga and we’ll give him the necessary time to adapt and develop,” said Stefan Reuter. The 19 year old netted four goals for his country at the U20s World Cup and will wear the number 21 for FCA this season.
“The Bundesliga is a huge challenge for me and I’m very thankful to the club for the trust they’ve shown in me, and that they’ve given me the chance to make this step. I want to adapt quickly and keep developing to help the team achieve their goals,” said the new striker after signing his contract.
