FC Augsburg and Manuel Baum have agreed the termination of his contract, allowing him to begin his new role as the U20s coach for Germany.
“I’m really looking forward to my new role at the DFB, where I will be helping to develop young talent. Even though I didn’t end the season at Augsburg, we have still maintained a good relationship,” said Manuel Baum.
“We would like to wish Manuel Baum all the best in his new role. We will stay in contact with him and hopefully more talented players from FCA can make the national sides,” said Stefan Reuter, sporting director of FC Augsburg.
Baum became head coach of FC Augsburg in December 2016 and secured survival on two occasions in the Bundesliga. He was a head coach in the youth academy beforehand.
