FCA head coach Manuel Baum will have to go without defender Jeffrey Gouweleeuw for several weeks as he picked up an injury during the weekend’s 1-1 draw. The Dutchman, who until coming off on Saturday had played every minute of FCA’s Bundesliga campaign, has partially torn the MCL in his left knee as discovered during his examination today. The 26-year-old will not undergo an operation but will be treated with caution.
“It’s a real shame to have picked up this injury because I’ve been feeling great this season,” said Jeffrey Gouweleeuw. “However, I’ll work extremely hard at getting back to full fitness so I can be back as soon as possible to help the team on the pitch.”
