FC Augsburg have signed Czech Republic international Marek Suchy as they continue to strengthen for the 2019/20 Bundesliga season. The defender, who has made 41 appearances for his country and has recently acted as captain, joins FCA on a free transfer from Swiss side FC Basel.
The 31 year-old has signed a contract until 30th June 2021. “After spells with Slavia Prague, Spartak Moscow and FC Basel, I’m now moving to Germany to play in the Bundesliga. It’s great that FC Augsburg have given me the chance to experience playing in the Bundesliga,” said Marek Suchy. “As a result, I’m delighted to wear the FC Augsburg shirt and I can help the team to achieve our targets. This is exactly the challenge I was wishing for.”
“Marek Suchy is an experienced defender who will be a huge asset for our team with his qualities on and off the pitch. He brings a lot of experience from his time in the Czech national team and playing in approximately 100 matches in European competitions. This will certainly help the team,” said delighted FC Augsburg sporting director, Stefan Reuter.
