The draw for the DFB-Pokal quarter-finals took place on Sunday evening at the German football museum in Dortmund. FC Augsburg were drawn to face fellow Bundesliga side RB Leipzig at home.
“We are pleased to have been drawn a home quarter-final. The match is several weeks away so we hope that Manuel Baum will have a full squad to choose from for the match. We are currently suffering from a few injuries,” said FCA sporting director Stefan Reuter following the draw.
The DFB-Pokal quarter-finals will take place on the 2nd and 3rd April 2019 with the exact timings for the fixtures announced in due course. FC Augsburg have faced RB Leipzig on two previous occasions in the DFB-Pokal and are unbeaten. The first meeting was in Leipzig in the 2011/12 season as FCA ran out 1-0 winners. The two sides faced each other again two seasons later and Augsburg were again victorious (2-0).
