While the vast majority of Bundesliga players are recharging their batteries in the winter break, over in the United Arab Emirates, the AFC Asian Cup 2019 has begun. The tournament kicked off on the 5th January, with Ja-Cheol Koo and Dong-Won Ji both in action for South Korea today.
Two FCA players are on international duty at the AFC Asian Cup 2019. Ja-Cheol Koo and Dong-Won Ji made the South Korea squad call-up. This year’s tournament, which began on Friday will be the first with 24 participating nations, as opposed to the usual 16.
Koo and Ji could get their first taste of the action today, when South Korea face the Philippines in their opening fixture (14:00 CET). The tournament is being held in the United Arab Emirates, where South Korea will go on to face Kyrgyzstan on Friday (17:00 CET) then China on the following Wednesday (14:30 CET) in the group stage, after which the knockout stages begin on the 1st February (15:00 CET).
