FC Augsburg has been active on the transfer market for the first time this summer on Tuesday. Forward Julian Schieber moves to Augsburg on a free transfer from Hertha BSC. The 29-year-old has signed a three-year contract until 30th June 2021.
“In Julian Schieber we’ve secured ourselves a player who’s very experienced and dangerous in front of goal. We’re certain that he can help us to achieve our medium- and long-term goals,” says sporting director Stefan Reuter.
“I’m delighted that FC Augsburg has trusted me to go on the hunt for goals over the coming three years. I want to help FCA to continue their success in the Bundesliga.”
The centre-forward has been at Hertha BSC for the past four years and scored 10 goals in 43 Bundesliga appearances. He has previously been under contract at Borussia Dortmund, 1. FC Nürnberg and VfB Stuttgart. In total, Schieber has made 156 Bundesliga appearances across his career to date.
