After allowing Tim Rieder, Georg Teigl and Jan-Ingwer Callsen-Bracker to go out on loan transfers, another player is set to leave FCA during the transfer window, but this time on a permanent basis. Midfielder Erik Spieler is set to leave for VfB Stuttgart with immediate effect. Both clubs have maintained discretion regarding the exact details of the transfer.
23 year old Thommy had this to say regarding his transfer, “I let FCA know that I would not accept a contract renewal for my contract expiring at the end of the season. Then the opportunity to change clubs presented itself in this window and so I decided to take it. I would like to thank FCA for all the coaching they have given me, I have really enjoyed my time here and I wish the club and the team all the best for the future.”
Stefan Reuter, FCA managing director added, “Erik Thommy has developed fantastically well and in the first half of the season made his first start in the Bundesliga. Therefore we are disappointed that he has not taken up our offer and does not wish to renew his contract at the end of the season.”
