FC Augsburg have agreed to terms with Christoph Janker on a contract extension that will keep the defender at the club for another year. The 33-year-old has worn the FCA shirt since his move from Hertha BSC in January 2015 and his new contract now runs until 30th June 2019.
“I really enjoy my job as a professional football player and I want to spend at least another year playing at this level. So I’m really happy that things all worked out with this contract extension at FCA. We have a great set of players with high aspirations, a brilliant coaching staff and fans that make every single player feel at home,” explained Christoph Janker of his reasoning behind the extension.
“Christoph is a very reliable player who brings a lot of valuable qualities not only on the pitch, but off it as well. He is a team player that always puts the team before himself. As a player, he can play in a variety of positions and with that in combination with his leadership abilities, he is a very important part of our team,” said a very pleased Manuel Baum.
