Tim Civeja moves to Saarbrücken
FCA secure a buy-back clause
Tim Civeja, who spent last season on loan at FC Ingolstadt and impressed with two goals in 13 games, has left FC Augsburg permanently to join third-division side 1. FC Saarbrücken. The transfer details will remain undisclosed, while FCA have secured a buy-back clause for the 21-year-old midfielder.
Civeja played for all of FC Augsburg’s youth sides and made his Bundesliga debut in January 2021 away against Werder Bremen. The Dachau-born youngster played three times for the club in the top flight.
“I’m really excited to join Saarbrücken, even if I am a little sad to be leaving Augsburg – after all, this is where I took my first steps as a pro. My loan move to Ingolstadt showed me that I need to be regularly playing football in order to keep improving. This move therefore comes at the perfect time for me,” said Tim Civeja.
“Tim Civeja came through the FC Augsburg academy and made his Bundesliga debut here. His loan move to Ingolstadt helped to develop him as a player. This transfer to 1. FC Saarbrücken, who finished fifth last season and therefore only narrowly missed out on promotion to the 2. Bundesliga, allows him to take the next step in his career. We wish Tim all the best in Saarbrücken and will keep an eye on him in the future, not just because of the buy-back clause in his contract,” commented Stefan Reuter, FCA’s board member for sport.
