Arne Maier handed two-match ban
Midfielder was sent off in Bochum
Following individual judgement proceedings and an indictment by the DFB’s Control Committee, the DFB has imposed a ban of two league matches on Arne Maier for dangerous foul play.
Substitute Arne Maier was sent off in the 81st minute in the away game at Bochum. Referee Martin Pedersen originally showed Maier a yellow card for his foul on Bernardo, but after consulting VAR, he changed his decision and gave the FCA midfielder his marching orders.
FCA have agreed to the legally binding judgement. Arne Maier will miss Augsburg’s next two Bundesliga games, on Sunday against Eintracht Frankfurt (20th April, 15:30 CEST) and a week later away to Bayer 04 Leverkusen (Saturday, 26th April, 15:30 CEST).
