Raphael Framberger ruptures anterior cruciate
The first game of the second half of the season against Fortuna Düsseldorf not only ended with zero points for FC Augsburg, but Manuel Baum has also lost right-back Raphael Framberger for the rest of the season.
The 23-year-old ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. This is the second time he has ruptured this knee ligament. As a result of this, unfortunately he will miss the rest of the season. The operation date is yet to be decided.
“I was shocked when I heard the diagnosis that my anterior cruciate ligament had ruptured again. It didn’t feel like it during both the game and in the evening,” said Raphael Framberger. “I know what goes on with the operation and the rehabilitation after. I will keep my head high and fight to come back through this difficult point in time,” said Framberger, who once again showed his fighting spirit.
Reuter: “We will help Framberger all the way”
“This news is very annoying for us and of course for Raphael himself. He is a model professional, who can always offer something to the team. Unfortunately he will not be able to help the team out on the pitch anymore this season,” said Stefan Reuter, sporting director of FC Augsburg. “We will keep our fingers crossed for Raphael and wish him much strength for the long rehab. We are convinced that he will come back stronger.”
