Raphael Frambeger signs five-year extension
FC Augsburg have extended the contract of right back Raphael Framberger. The 23 year old, who advanced though every level of the club’s youth academy since joining at the age of eight, will remain at Augsburg for another five years.
The newly-signed contract will expire on 30th June 2024 and was announced ahead of the presentation of the club’s new kits for the coming campaign at the Augsburg “Sommernächte” fair.
“Raphael Framberger is a local player and is Augsburg through and through. He identifies with the club the way not many others do. We are pleased that he also sees his footballing future at the club. With his passion and skill, he is a fantastic fit for our philosophy,” said Augsburg sporting director Stefan Reuter.
“I am very happy that Augsburg have shown their appreciation towards me with this long-term deal. It is a dream for me to wear the red, green and white of Augsburg in the Bundesliga,” said Framberger on the contract extension. “In the next few years I will give everything, like usual, so we can continue the success story of the club in the coming seasons.”
Framberger has represented Augsburg on 19 occasions in the Bundesliga so far. In the DFB-Pokal the right back has made two appearances, and has also played 38 games for the U23 side in the fourth tier. Framberger is currently working on his comeback from a ruptured cruciate ligament.
