Löwen: "I'm trying to prepare myself as best I can"

First Team 30.04.2020, 13:43

The FCA first team are training in small group in order to be as prepared as possible for the restart of the season. Eduard Löwen spoke to the media before training on Thursday in a Live-Chat. Here's the 23-year-old on...

...training in small groups: "As a footballer, it's the nicest thing in the world when you can get back out on the pitch after some time off. We're only training in small groups at the moment, with no tackling. We're doing a lot of running and a lot of shooting, which has been intense, and whilst it's not exactly what we want to be doing, it's at least a little bit of preparation. We've not got a clue when the season is going to get back underway, but I'm training hard so I'm as prepared as I can be when we do get back out there."

...his first few months in Augsburg: "It's a really cool team, I get on with everyone really well. I hope I can integrate myself as quickly as possible. I feel very much at home here and I hope that i can make many more appearances for the club. I can imagine staying here after my loan finishes, definitely. I've not seen a lot of the city yet because of the current situation with Coronavirus. But all in all I feel really at home here in Augsburg."

It's important not to dwell on the past or look too far forward into the future.

...differences between Martin Schmidt and Heiko Herrlich: "It's difficult to say really, because we've not played that many games und Heiko yet. I only have positive things to say about both managers though. Martin Schmidt was a really kind-hearted man, who preferred to focus on defence. With Heiko I get the feeling that everything is more attack-minded, probably because he used to be a striker."

...his plans for the future: "Off the field, I'd like to start my own family. Otherwise, I'm just trying to concentrate on making myself the best footballer I can possibly be. It's important not to dwell on the past or look too far forward into the future. I just want to integrate myself into this squad and show everyone what I can do. When you play in the Bundesliga, it's everyone's dream to be playing European football."
