Leipzig Match Reaction
After 90 intense minutes in the WWK ARENA, Augsburg earned a well deserved point against RB Leipzig. Here are the thoughts of some of the men involved:
Halil Altintop: "We played very well right from the start and implemented our plans. We came into the game full of confidence and were perhaps unlucky not to get a winner at the end, although we're happy with the point."
Georg Teigl: "We definitely deserved a point. We didn't allow Leipzig to play and created some good chances ourselves. In the end, a draw is a fair result. With a bit more luck we could have won. The support of the fans today was phenomenal. The game had everything."
Martin Hinteregger: "Leipzig had more ball possession, but it was a good game to watch. Leipzig brought the best out of us and our fans were incredible today. With the equaliser I just saw the chance and decided to carry the ball forward, but my goal isn't important, what's important is the point for the team."
Kevin Danso: "I'm happy with the trust of the whole team, the manager and everyone else. I want to repay them with good performances. I'm fulfilling a dream that every little boy has of playing in the Bundesliga. My teammates have helped me a lot so that I could give this performance. I now want to work harder, in order to play more games."
Moritz Leitner: "We're happy with the point. We carried out our plan well for the full 90 minutes. It wasn't completely without mistakes, but, on the whole, we gave a good performance. We have to give a huge compliment to our fans, who supported us incredibly tonight."
Manuel Baum: "It was a strong collective performance from the team and the fans. The atmosphere was phenomenal and pushed the team on. We did well and took Leipzig's quality out of the game. We're happy with the point and it helps us in our fight to stay up."
Ralph Hasenhüttl: "It was a heated match. I've been happier about a draw in the past, but also been unhappier. We can live with a point from this game, even when the goals we conceded were a little unfortunate. We gave everything to try and win the game, but unfortunately we missed the chance to make it 3-1."
