2024 Year in Review, part 2

Another year is coming to an end: 12 eventful months of both highs and lows, along with plenty of memorable moments for FC Augsburg. It's time to once more reflect on the past 365 days. In part two of FCA's Year in Review, we look back on February.
League action: The first weekend in February saw FCA play away at neighbours in the table, VfL Bochum. A late penalty from Ermedin Demirović secured an important point on the road.
Next up was the visit of RasenBallsport Leipzig. The clash with the team in fifth place ended 2-2 after goals from Phillip Tietz and Demirović again. That draw was followed by a disappointing afternoon in Mainz, where FCA were beaten 1-0.
The Fuggerstädter displayed their strong character a week later in the final game of matchday 23. After going 1-0 down against SC Freiburg, FCA won 2-1 under the floodlights. Felix Uduokhai and Arne Engels scored the goals to secure the first home win of 2024, which also extended the club’s winning run on Sundays (5-2 in Heidenheim, 2-1 against Frankfurt, 2-1 in Gladbach, 2-1 against Freiburg).
The victory over SC left FCA in 11th place with 26 points.
Transfer news: FCA brought attacker Pep Biel to the club on deadline day. The 27-year-old Spaniard arrived on loan from Greek side Olympiakos until the end of the season. He made his debut in the draw against Bochum, coming off the bench in the 60th minute.
