Carlos Gruezo tests positive for COVID-19
Ahead of Ecuador’s game against Peru

FCA’s Carlos Gruezo tested positive for the Coronavirus during the latest round of PCR tests while on international duty with Ecuador, ahead of the World Cup 2022 qualifier against Peru. The 26-year-old has shown no symptoms and is currently in self-isolation.
FC Augsburg is in close contact with Carlos Gruezo as well as the Ecuador Football Association regarding the situation. The midfielder had been called up for Ecuador’s World Cup qualifiers against Brazil (4th June) and Peru (8th June), and was set to take part in the Copa América with his country between Sunday 13th June and Sunday 10th July in Brazil.
