Baier: "FCA has become my club"

Not for the first time since his contract extension has Daniel Baier been known as “Mr. FCA”. However, the nickname is an appropriate one, since the captain has worn Augsburg colours now for over ten years. He looked back on his time at the club in an interview with FCA Fan-TV.
The reaction to the news that Daniel Baier had extended his contract with FCA until 2021 was consistently positive. He is known in Augsburg as “Mr. FCA” and “Legend”, due to the appreciation the fans have for the 35-year-old, who manages to help the club week in and week out, both on and off the pitch. Although he denies this legendary status, he appreciates these compliments and says, “It’s nice to give something back to the people.”
Aside from the sporting side, he is also proud about what he has seen at FCA in the time he’s been here. “For example, new players come to the ARENA and think it’s amazing. However, I know that everything used to look very different. But it has been a pleasure to watch everything develop and build up."
