Baier: “Dortmund game showed what we can do”

After the important victory against Borussia Dortmund at home, Daniel Baier is looking forward to the next game against RB Leipzig on Saturday (09.03.19, 15:30 CET). The team don’t want to take their foot off the gas after the victory. After the training session on Tuesday, Daniel Baier spoke to the waiting journalists. The team are fully focussed on their next game against RB Leipzig after beating Dortmund in a very important home victory: “Of course after a victory, the start of the week is easier and we want to thank the fans for their support after the game. But we know that it was only one game and it was only three points. We still have many upcoming important games and have to be fully focussed for them.” Baier doesn’t want the momentum to stop After more than 250 games in the Bundesliga, Baier is keeping a cool head in both the relegation battle and the current failures: “Of course the injuries aren’t helping, but we have enough other lads, who can play well for the team if they are chosen. Every player knows what their job is, even if they’re second or third choice.” Nevertheless, Baier doesn’t want to rest on the victory. “We put in a good performance but it’s not guarantee that it will be the same on Saturday in Leipzig. The game showed us how we can play, but the game against Leipzig will be different and we will need to adapt ourselves.”
