The season has not come to a full conclusion yet for four FC Augsburg players, who are currently representing their respective countries on international duty. Here is a round-up of all the international action. Germany U21s 12-0 South Tyrol XI Last week, Marco Richter secured his place in Stefan Kuntz’s final 23-man squad for this month’s U21 European Championships in Italy and San Marino. As part of their pre-tournament training camp in the Italian Alps, Germany U21s took on a South Tyrol XI in a friendly on Friday and Richter managed to get on the scoresheet. The FCA attacker scored in the 12th minute as he played the entire first half. Germany U21s eventually ran out 12-0 winners. Germany U21s 3-2 Poland U21s In their second friendly ahead of the U21 European Champions, Germany took on fellow tournament participants Poland. The friendly took place in South Tyrol on Monday where both teams have been preparing for the tournament. The match was held over four quarter each lasting 30 minutes and Marco Richter and his teammates were once again on the winning side. Arne Maier (30’) and Luca Waldschmidt (72’, 112’) scored for Stefan Kuntz’s side and Germany ran out 3-2 winners. Austria U21s 10-2 South Burgenland XI Kevin Danso also sealed his place in the final Austria U21s squad for the European Championships. In their pre-tournament friendly against a South Burgenland XI, Danso played for the full 90 minutes as Austria secured a 10-2 victory. On Tuesday, 11th June, Danso will hope to feature once more as Austria conclude their tournament preparations with a tough friendly against France U21s in Hartberg (18:45 CEST). Austria 1-0 Slovenia Michael Gregoritsch and his Austria teammates also enjoyed a victory on Friday evening. The home side ran out 1-0 winners in Klagenfurt as substitute Guido Burgstaller scored within minutes of coming off the bench (74’). Gregoritsch sadly didn’t feature as Austria secured their first points of Euro 2020 qualifying. North Macedonia 1-4 Austria Just three days later, Austria celebrated another victory and this time had to come from behind o win in Skopje against North Macedonia. After Martin Hinteregger headed the ball beyond goalkeeper Heinz Lindner into his own net to open the scoring (18’), Austria turned the match around through a Valentino Lazaro equaliser on the stroke of half-time and a Marko Arnautovic brace (62’, 82’). A North Macedonia own goal late on (86’) sealed the turnaround as Michael Gregoritsch once more didn’t feature. Greece 0-3 Italy Kostas Stafylidis, who will leave the Fuggerstädter this summer to join TSG Hoffenheim, featured as Greece fell to a 3-0 home defeat to Italy in Euro 2020 qualifying. The die had already been cast on the match virtually by the half-hour mark as Nicolo Barelle (23’), Lorenzo Insigne (30’) and Leonardo Bonucci (33’) gave the Azzurri a flying start in Athens. Stafylidis will hope for a more positive result on Tuesday evening as Greece entertain Armenia in their fourth Euro 2020 qualifier (20:45 CEST). Going into this match, Greece are fourth in Group J.
