Suchý and Koubek reclaim second place
With the international break slowly drawing to a close, there were more FCA boys in action for their countries this week. Marek Suchý and Tomáš Koubek of the Czech Republic had the most to celebrate.
Thanks to a 3-0 win featuring Marek Suchý in the starting XI on Tuesday night in Montenegro, Czech Republic reclaimed spot two in their European championship qualifying group.
On Monday, Michael Gregoritsch and Austria picked up a point away to group leaders Poland after a goalless draw, which saw the FCA man come on as a substitute in the closing stages and leaves Austria at third place in Group G. Tin Jedvaj had already returned from international duty before Croatia’s 1-1 draw in Azerbaijan. The defender came back to Augsburg as a precautionary measure.
Meanwhile, Simon Asta of the Germany U19s enjoyed a 1-0 friendly win against England. The right back came on for the second half.
