Sergio Córdova is also moving to the MLS
Córdova will join Vancouver Whitecaps FC
Alongside Carlos Gruezo, Sergio Córdova is also moving to Major League Soccer. The 25-year-old centre-forward, who joined FC Augsburg in 2017 on a free transfer, has now signed a contract with Vancouver Whitecaps FC. Both sides have agreed not to disclose the transfer fee. In the 2020/21 season, the Venezuelan was loaned out to Arminia Bielefeld in the Bundesliga, and more recently has been on loan at Real Salt Lake City for a year. Now he returns to the MLS.
“Sergio Córdova made it clear early on that he would like to continue playing in the MLS. After we were able to add quality on the attacking side in the winter, we wanted to give him his chance in Vancouver, especially since the financial conditions of the transfer also suit us. We wish Sergio Córdova every success for the future in the MLS and all the best personally,” said Stefan Reuter, managing director of sport at FCA.
