Sergio Córdova heads to MLS on loan
One year at Real Salt Lake
Sergio Córdova is leaving FC Augsburg on loan. The 24-year-old Venezuelan is joining Major League Soccer side Real Salt Lake for the remainder of the calendar year until December 2022. The move is subject to Córdova being granted a work permit to play in the USA. The two clubs have agreed not to disclose any further details of the loan agreement.
“The MLS is a very interesting league in which I’m hoping to get more playing time than I have been recently in the Bundesliga,” said Sergio Córdova on the reasons behind his loan.
“There is a lot of competition in attack, above all because we have a lot of players returning from injury after the first half of the season. We are convinced that Sergio Córdova needs playing time for his development. He definitely has the opportunity to get that at Salt Lake City, which will do him good,” said FCA sporting director Stefan Reuter.
