Reece Oxford undergoes surgery orthopaedic clinic
Meniscus injury
FCA head coach Markus Weinzierl will be without Reece Oxford over the next few weeks of preseason. The 22-year-old defender underwent knee surgery as a result of his meniscus injury picked up at training. The intervention was carried out at the orthopaedic clinic with which FC Augsburg have been cooperating since the start of preseason.
"It’s obviously a frustrating injury, but the doctors told me that everything has gone well, so I’m looking forward confidently and hope to be fit again soon," said Reece Oxford, who played 24 games for FCA last season in the Bundesliga.
