No international wins for the Augsburg players
The international break began with Augsburg players Kevin Danso, Marco Richter and Simon Asta playing Italy and France in friendlies. They were all on duty with their respective youth sides, but none of them could get off to a winning start.
Germany U21s 2-2 France U21s
Marco Richter’s Germany U21 side let a two-goal lead slip against France. They were ahead at half-time thanks to goals from Levin Öztunali and Maximilian Mittelstädt. France turned the game on its head in the second to earn a draw in the friendly. Richter was brought on in the 63rd minute. The U21s’ next game is in England on Tuesday, 26th March.
France U18s 1-0 Germany U18s
Simon Asta and the Germany U18 side slipped to a defeat against France. Despite having three good chances, they couldn’t score and conceded what turned out to be the eventual winner in the 57th minute. Simon Asta played 70 minutes. They will have chance for revenge as the two sides will face each other again in Narbonne on Saturday, 23 March.
Italy U21s 0-0 Austria U21s
Kevin Danso played all 90 minutes for Austria in Trieste. The game ended goalless, although the Austrians had the better chances. Their next friendly comes on Monday, 25th March away in Spain.
