Michael Gregoritsch returns to training
Team photo in the new home kit
The fans in attendance at FC Augsburg’s training camp were greeted with the club’s new home kit during training on Monday.
Just before training began, there was time for the first team photo of the season to be taken, even though several players have not yet returned from their summer break after playing in international tournaments, and Marco Richter and Felix Uduokhai are now both away in Tokyo for the Olympics. However, in order to get the new kit in the various German football magazines for the new season, an early photo was still needed.
One player in the team photo was Michael Gregoritsch. The striker returned from his extended break after EURO 2020 to join up with the squad on Sunday. “I’m glad to be back with the lads,” said the Austrian. “Reaching the knockouts for the first time in our nation’s history was something really special. I’ll never forget that.” His goal against North Macedonia played a big role in Austria getting out of the groups. That will hopefully give ‘Gregerl’ plenty of confidence for his return to FCA. That was something already noticeable during his first training session back.
The 27-year-old had a busy Monday, completing an individual session in the afternoon with his teammates enjoying some free time.
