László Bénes joins Augsburg
Slovakian arrives on loan from Borussia Mönchengladbach
FC Augsburg have strengthened the squad on the last day of the January transfer window. Attacking midfielder László Bénes has joined on loan from fellow Bundesliga side Borussia Mönchengladbach. The loan deal will run until 30th June 2021 and exact details of the transfer will remain undisclosed.
“We have been following László Bénes for a long time, so when the chance to take him on loan came about we did not hesitate to strengthen our squad for the rest of the season. László Bénes brings technical quality that will help us a lot. He won’t need long to settle in since he already knows the Bundesliga,” said Stefan Reuter, managing director for sport at FC Augsburg.
“I see myself as a young player with the potential to develop, but I’ve got a fair bit of experience already. The most important thing for my development is regular match practice. That’s what I’m hoping for in Augsburg. I want to help FCA reach our goals together. That’s what I am looking forward to over the coming months here,” said Bénes of the transfer.
László Bénes underwent a succesful medical and signed a contract on Monday. The 23-year-old Slovakian, who represented his country at all youth levels and has already earned three senior caps, will take part in training with his new team on Monday in order to prepare for the game against VfL Wolfsburg (Saturday, 6th February, 15.30 CET). He will wear the number 18 for Augsburg.
