Jozo Stanić signs contract extension and joins Zwickau on loan
Chance for game time in the 3. Liga
FC Augsburg and Jozo Stanić have agreed a one-year extension to the home-grown talent’s contract, meaning he will stay at the club until 30th June 2023. The defender, who made one Bundesliga appearance last season, will now move on loan to FSV Zwickau for the coming season. Stanić has already travelled to the third-division side’s training camp.
“As someone who was born in Augsburg, it’s my dream to play for FCA. Having said that, I know that I need game time for my development so that I can play in Augsburg colours in the Bundesliga in the future,” says Stanić. “That’s why I’m so pleased to have extended my contract with Augsburg, and I’m equally happy to have the opportunity to get game time in Zwickau.”
“We know how much Jozo loves the club, but he needs game time for his development. We’re confident that this combination of extending his contract and sending him out on loan is a win-win for all involved,” says Stefan Reuter, FCA sporting director.
