Jedvaj, Gregoritsch and Asta celebrate important victories
Tin Jedvaj, Michael Gregoritsch and Simon Asta all picked up important victories with their national teams in their respective European Championship qualifiers.
Tin Jedvaj and Croatia took a convincing 3-0 win over Hungary on Thursday. The World Cup finalists made sure that they didn’t slip up and had the game all but wrapped up within the first half. Jedvaj played the full 90 minutes, helping his side to secure their place at the top of Group E.
Michael Gregoritsch and his native Austria also picked up an important victory in their bid for qualification. In their game against Israel they initially fell behind, before turning the game around in the second half and eventually coming out 3-1 winners. Gregoritsch was subbed off in the final few minutes. The victory has meant that Austria now sit in second place in Group G.
Simon Asta started for Germany U19s as they picked up their first win of their World Cup qualifying campaign, winning 3-0 against Andorra.
