International break: the following FCA players are on the road
After the third matchday, the Bundesliga now has its first international break. Eight FC Augsburg players are away with their countries.
Michael Gregoritsch (11 caps) joins the Austria squad to face Latvia (Friday, 6th September) and Poland (Monday, 9th September) in European Championship qualifying. New signing Tin Jedvaj (20 caps) and his Croatia teammates play Slovakia (6th September) and Azerbaijan (9th September). Tomáš Koubek (9 caps) and Marek Suchý (42 caps) both travel to Kosovo with the Czech Republic (Saturday, 7th September) and Montenegro (10th September), while Finland and Fredrik Jensen (8 caps) face Greece (Thursday, 5th September) and Lichtenstein (Sunday, 8th September).
Three FCA players have also earned call-ups to their nation’s youth teams. Ruben Vargas (4 caps) has scored three times in the past two games and deserves his place in Switzerland’s U21s side, who play against Ireland (5th September), Gibraltar (8th September) and Lichtenstein (10th September). Jozo Stanić (4 caps) links back up with the Croatia U20s ahead of their fixtures against a selection of players from Zagreb (Wednesday, 4th September) and France (6th September). Simon Asta (6 caps for the U18s) and the Germany U19s play Spain (4th September) and England (9th September).
