Herrlich: "To win 3-0 at Schalke is always special"
FC Augsburg won 'auf Schalke' for the first time in their history. "To win 3-0 at Schalke is always special," said Heiko Herrlich after the game. We collected all the spot match reaction.
Eduard Löwen: "I'm extremely happy because we've finally got a win after so long without one. We wanted to reward ourselves for our hard work today, having trained really well all week. I thought we played really well today and we more than earned the win. It was all about pressing and fighting for the ball today, but we looked potent as well when we had it."
Carlos Gruezo: "We're so happy today because we've never won here in our history. We played so well and we fought together as a team, but we can't slow down now, we have to keep going and pick up more points in the coming games."
Noah Sarenren Bazee: "I think everyone saw today how much we wanted to win. We've really been growing together as a team in the past few weeks and we got our reward for that today. We worked hard all week after the game against Wolfsburg and it showed today with our pressing - we definitely took a step in the right direction. We're all just really happy and of course so am I with my goal today."
Heiko Herrlich: "We knew if we stayed compact and had good organisation that we could pick up points here. We had a lot of chances and we took them. To win 3-0 at Schalke is always special and it's a big turnaround for us, but now we have to build on that. There's still some things we can improve on from this performance. We gave the ball away too easily too many times today and we will be working on that in training because if you look at the table, we're not out of the woods yet."
David Wagner: "In the first half we were poor, and then in the second we didn't improve. We need to have a bit more belief in our ability, and a bit more faith that we can come out of situations like that. We lacked any threat in front of goal and we barely created any chances, which then brings on more individual errors. It won't be easy for us to get out of this situation."
