Felix Götze extends contract and joins FCK on loan
Season-long loan to Kaiserslautern

FC Augsburg have extended midfielder Felix Götze's contract, which was set to expire in summer 2022, by a further two years until 30th June 2024. The 23-year-old will now join 1. FC Kaiserslautern on a season-long loan.
Götze had previously spent the second half of the 2020/21 season on loan at the third-division side and played a key role in ensuring the club stayed up.
"I'm very happy to have been able to extend my contract with FCA. In order to continue developing, I need plenty of match practice, which I have been able to get in Kaiserslautern. For that reason, it's great that I'll now be able to spend another year at FCK," Götze said.
"Felix Götze made great progress during his recent loan spell at Kaiserslautern. This second loan spell will offer him the opportunity to build on his development from last season, in order to then return to us," said FCA sporting director Stefan Reuter about what is a win-win situations for all those involved.
