FCA sign defender Patric Pfeiffer
Long-term deal until 30th June 2027
FC Augsburg have added to their defensive strength with the signing of Patric Pfeiffer. The coveted centre-back has opted to join FCA, arriving on a free from SV Darmstadt 98. The 23-year-old helped the Lilies to Bundesliga promotion this season, scoring four goals and grabbing one assist in 24 appearances. The 1.96-metre-tall defender, who came through Hamburger SV’s youth academy and has represented Germany at U18 and U19 level, has signed a long-term contract until 30th June 2027.
“I had a wonderful time in Darmstadt, with promotion to the Bundesliga the icing on the cake. They often say you should finish on a high note, so I have decided to start a new chapter in my career in Augsburg. The talks with FCA’s management convinced me that Augsburg is the ideal place for me to continue my journey in the Bundesliga,” said Patric Pfeiffer.
“We’re proud that we have been able to bring Patric Pfeiffer to FCA despite lots of interest from other clubs. We’re getting one of the best defenders in the second division this season, someone who can help us achieve our goals in the coming years with his pace and his tackling and aerial ability,” said FCA sporting director Stefan Reuter.
