FCA sign Ecuador international Carlos Gruezo
FC Augsburg have made their sixth signing of the summer. FCA have signed Ecuador international Carlos Gruezo from MLS side FC Dallas on a five year contract. The 24-year-old midfielder, who has recently been on international duty at Copa America, has signed a deal until 2024. Both clubs have agreed an undisclosed fee for the transfer.
“I’m delighted that FC Augsburg have given me the opportunity to return to Germany and play in the Bundesliga for the second time,” said Carlos Gruezo. The Ecuadorian made 18 appearances for VfB Stuttgart between January 2014 and December 2015, scoring once. “I have gathered a lot of important experience in Dallas and I now want to show that in Augsburg.”
“We are convinced Carlos Gruezo will fit into our team very nicely with his style of play. He has already played in the Bundesliga in the past and has continued to develop in the MLS and with the Ecuador national team. We are therefore certain we will enjoy a lot of success with Carlos over the next few years,” said FCA sporting director Stefan Reuter.
Carlos Gruezo will wear the number 25 shirt for the Fuggerstädter next season. Bienvenido, Carlos!
