FCA present new the home and third kits with partner Mizuno
"The new old FCA"
FC Augsburg presented the new home and third kits for the 2023/24 season with partner Mizuno on Thursday afternoon. The Japanese company will adorn the Fuggerstädter’s jerseys for the first time, which represent the connection between tradition and modernity under the motto: “The new old FCA.”
The kit launch took place at the branch of FCA’s exclusive partner “VR-Bank Augsburg Handels- und Gewerbebank” in Augsburg city centre. Committee members, partners, sponsors and fans were all in attendance. At 14:00 CEST, Aaron Zehnter and Mert Kömür, along with two players from the FCA women and two youth players, took to the stage to present the new kits. Alwin Fink, captain of the 1973-74 championship winning team, was also a surprise guest.
The new home shirt
The new home kit combines a sense of tradition with the modernity of our home stadium. The traditional stripe, which runs through the centre of the shirt, is neatly designed with elements of the facade of the WWK ARENA. The stripe is reminiscent of the jerseys of the 1970s which Helmut Haller used to shine in. The year in which the club was founded, 1907, is emblazoned in red on the back of the collar. The club is sticking to its roots in terms of colour with the white home shirt.
The new third kit
The new black third kit stands in contrast to the home shirt and is intended to symbolise the WWK ARENA at night. The front of the jersey is emblazoned with red and green design elements which fade into transparency towards the top of the shirt and are reminiscent of our home stadium when it is lit up. The founding year on the back of collar is in white.
“We are really proud of our new, individually designed jerseys and we are looking forward to wearing Mizuno on our shirts for the first time this season. The design of the kits is both modern and traditional and they fully represent the values of our club,” explained chief commercial officer, Michael Ströll. “Each kit has its own story and was designed and developed with lots of passion. We want to express our connection to our fans and to our roots through this individuality.”
Mark Kaiway, head of global marketing at Mizuno, is also looking forward to the new partnership: “FC Augsburg have a passionate fan base and we look forward to our successful future in which we’ll support the team with our unique and innovative products. With the strong identity of the club, this partnership is key to the development of our position within professional football in Germany.”
Adult shirts start from €79.95 and children’s shirts €54.95. The away kit will be presented separately towards the end of the pre season.
