FCA and Khedira agree to go their separate ways
Midfielder to leave the club in the summer
Rani Khedira, who has been at FCA since 2017 after signing from RB Leipzig, has agreed to depart the club in the summer once his contract expires.
“Rani Khedira has developed well with us over the past four years, has played a lot of games and always given his all for FCA,” said Stefan Reuter, sporting director. “We are really thankful for his hard work and services for our club. After conversations over the past few months, both sides decided it was time to go their separate ways. That’s just part and parcel of football. We would like to wish Rani Khedira all the best for his sporting future and in his private life.”
“I had an incredibly great and successful time at FCA and I’m really thankful to everyone at the club and the fans,” commented Khedira. “I have been able to develop into a Bundesliga player here, so I’ll always have fond memories of my four years at the club. Nevertheless, I came to the conclusion that this was the right time for a new chapter in my sporting career. I will still feel a connection to FCA after this season and I will always keep my fingers crossed for them.”
