FC Augsburg sign Florian Niederlechner

FC Augsburg have announced their first signing for the 2019/20 season. The Fuggerstädter have signed Florian Niederlechner from fellow Bundesliga side SC Freiburg on a three year contract until 30th June 2022. Both clubs have agreed an undisclosed fee for the transfer. The 28-year-old centre forward is delighted to start a new adventure in Augsburg. “It feels great to be in Augsburg for next season. I’m extremely excited for it! From the beginning, I only wanted to join FC Augsburg and blocked all other enquiries. Consequently, we’re even more thrilled that we managed to make that dream a reality.” Florian Niederlechner, born in Hohenlinden east of Munich, started his professional career at SpVgg Unterhaching (2011-2012). The 28 year-old has also spent time with 1. FC Heidenheim (2013-2015), 1. FSV Mainz 05 (2015-2016) where he played under current Fuggerstädter head coach Martin Schmidt, and SC Freiburg (2016-2019). Niederlechner will wear the number 7 shirt for FC Augsburg from next season.
