Beljo and Croatia reach the final of the Nations League
FCA striker still waiting for his first cap
Croatia booked their place in the final of the UEFA Nations League with a 4-2 victory over hosts Netherlands in extra time.
The fans in Rotterdam witnessed an exciting and action-packed semi-final. The Netherlands equalised in injury time via Noa Lang (2-2), but Bruno Petkovic and Luka Modric (penalty) put Croatia through to the final in extra time.
FCA striker Dion Beljo was in a senior squad for the first time, but didn’t feature. The 21-year-old is also part of the U21s squad for the upcoming European Championship to be held in Georgia and Romania, along with teammate David Čolina. Beljo’s next chance for his debut is on Sunday in the final (20:45 CEST). Croatia will either face Italy or Spain, who play tonight.
