Baum: “We made one mistake too many”

FC Augsburg fell to a disappointing 1-0 defeat in Leverkusen on Saturday. FCA have now suffered four consecutive defeats. After the match, a disappointed Manuel Baum said “we believe the ball went out of play shortly before the goal. This is especially disappointing.” Here is the post match reaction. Philipp Max: “We once again tried to play nasty football to disrupt our opponents. We partly achieved this as we made life difficult for Leverkusen. However, the final result means a narrow defeat for us. The result is what it is. We have experienced similar difficult situations in the past in Augsburg. After falling behind, we played better going forwards and managed to create a few chances. You have to give the team and fans credit for this. We gave everything we had. It is incredible to experience the support from the fans after the match. We showed this today but unfortunately require too many chances to score goals. We were also punished for our mistakes. However, we are team with a lot of character.
