Baum: "We don't have to change necessarily"

First Team 15.03.2018, 19:42
With the win in Hannover behind them, FCA can now head home with their heads held high. Werder Bremen are coming to the WWK Arena on Saturday and are after three points. Manuel Baum's team know how dangerous Bremen can be and have an idea how to stop them. With a win against Florian Kohfeldt's side, FCA would get ever nearer to their end of season target point total of 40. However, it won't be easy. "Bremen are only five points off the drop zone and, as they played on Monday, have had no time to relax or get complacent," said Manuel Baum. Goalkeeper Andreas Luthe knows how crucial a win would be and the importance it has for many reasons. "Winning after our dip in form was important. We can breathe again. We kept working hard but you could sense the unease in the training camp.. We kept our heads and our calm and remembered what we did well earlier in the season to beat Hannover." Against Hannover 96, Augsburg faced a tough side and came out on top. There'll be hoping for the same result this weekend. "After the game in Hannover, we showed we can replace the injured players. We have to adapt to our opponent but we don't necessarily have to make changes," said Baum. FCA have to be wary of Bremen's top scorer, Max Kruse. "He can play in a number of positions and is aggressive when he doesn't have the ball. We'll have to keep an eye on him for the whole 90 minutes," said Baum. "We're facing an inform Bremen side and they'll be giving their all. I think it'll be a high-quality game," said Luthe. FCA will be without Alfred Finnbogason, Jeffrey Gouweleeuw, Kevin Danso and Raphael Framberger. Martin Hinteregger, Philipp Max and Jan Moravek are back. Fabian Giefer has rejoined team training.
