FC Augsburg have lost one member of the club’s board of directors. Robert Schraml, who has worked as FCA’s manager for sales and marketing, has decided to leave the club to take a new direction in private enterprise. “We would like to thank Robert Schraml for all of his efforts at our FC Augsburg,” said FCA chief executive Klaus Hofmann. “Robert Schraml was pivotal in negotiating FCA’s new pioneering marketing deal with Lagardere Sports. Additionally. he has made important steps forward for FCA’s presence in national marketing. Robert Schraml has also put the necessary foundations in place regarding our growth area of internationalisation. This enables us to make the most of new income possibilities. We are sorry his involvement with the club has come to an end. We wish Robert Schraml all the best for the future.” “I have incredibly enjoyed my time working at FC Augsburg as the Bundesliga is an exciting football environment to work in. Personally, the pioneering and successful contract extension with Lagardere Sports is the highest priority for the interests of the club. This will allow FCA to be best prepared to advance in the future,” justifies Robert Schraml as his made his decision. “I would like to fully thank all of the fans and members of the FCA family as well as all of the club’s partners and sponsors for their faithful and rewarding work during my time at the club,” adds Schraml. “We will not be looking for an applicant to take Robert’s position in the board of directors. Instead we will revert our long term model to include two of our respective managers,” announced Klaus Hoffmann. “Our cooperation with Lagardere Sports is in a good position with Stefan Reuter and Michael Ströll acting on our behalf,” said a clear and optimistic Hofmann.
