It’s Christmas time and an eventful 2024 is coming to an end. It’s therefore a good chance to take a look back at the last 12 months. Together, we’ve had a number of highs and lows, and experienced some fantastic moments, none of which would have been possible without your support, so we would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
The calendar year ended with a disappointing defeat in Kiel, but there were still a lot of positive results that won’t be forgotten from 2024. One that stands out in particular was the 6-0 victory in Darmstadt. FCA ended the 2023/24 season with 39 points in 11th place, the club’s third-highest finish ever in the top flight. So far in 2024/25, we have recorded a fantastic 2-1 home win over BVB and booked our place in the quarter-finals of the DFB-Pokal after a dramatic penalty shootout in Karlsruhe. One constant throughout 2024 has been the incredible support of our fans at the WWK ARENA, which has been sold out in the home end for almost every single game!
Another highlight of 2024 was our summer training camp, which took us to South Africa for the first time. Alongside some solid pre-season work, the trip significantly boosted FCA's presence beyond national borders on the African continent. Additionally, we experienced special moments and encounters that not only enriched the lives of every individual but also the entire club as a whole.
We were also very busy back home in 2024. At the charity gala “Augsburg Vereint” we joined forces with the Augsburg Panthers and Schwabenhilfe Augsburg to raise an impressive sum of €150,000. Additionally, the benefit match against SSV Ulm in Dinkelscherben contributed to helping those affected by the flooding.
The launch of our “Roman kit” in the summer sparked a hype unlike anything Augsburg has ever seen before. In the autumn, we opened our new fan shop in the heart of Augsburg – a milestone for FCA. Speaking of milestones: we recently gained our 25,000th member.
2025 will once again provide us with exciting challenges, both on and off the pitch. One particular highlight will be the DFB-Pokal quarter-final in Stuttgart. The club will continue to start projects in other areas and will look to continue the team’s development.
