Rexhbecaj fires Kosovo to victory on international duty

10 FCA first-team players are currently away with their national teams, with two getting on the scoresheet already in the first round of games of this international break.

Elvis Rexhbecaj and Kosovo secured an important victory in their bid to win promotion in the Nations League. The 27-year-old scored the winning goal as they defeated Iceland 2-1, playing 90 minutes in the first leg. The return fixture will be on Sunday, 23rd March.

Steve Mounié also had his scoring boots with him as he found the back of the net for Benin in a 2-2 draw against Zimbabwe in a World Cup qualifier. The forward played the full game in Durban. Their next qualification match is on Tuesday, 25th March against South Africa.

No minutes for Jakić and Giannoulis

Croatia beat France 2-0 in the first leg of their Nations League quarter-final. Kristijan Jakić didn’t come off the bench. Greece were beaten 1-0 by Scotland in the first leg of their Nations League tie, with Dimitris Giannoulis also remaining an unused substitute. Both second legs will take place on Sunday, 23rd March.
