Pedersen: “Being at Augsburg is fantastic”
In his first game for Augsburg, Mads Pedersen already established himself as a player to watch out for. The new signing set up Maurice Malone in the final against Borussia Mönchengladbach, which meant Augsburg won the pre-season tournament in Heimstetten. The Dane is already feeling right at home with his new club.
A dream was fulfilled when Mads Pedersen made the move to the Bundesliga side, even if it meant he had to leave his home: “I haven’t missed Denmark at all yet. It was a dream for me to play in the Bundesliga and now that I’m here in Augsburg it’s just fantastic.” For the U21 international, it’s now a task of demanding more of himself everyday: “I have to prove myself here but I will also become better.”
FCA showed early interest
FC Augsburg showed an interest in the Danish talent long ago and the signing was finalised this summer: “Augsburg were interested in me for a long time but I had to concentrate on myself and recover from my injury. I wanted to be in top form first. In terms of going forward with their interest, the decision was very clear for me: I definitely wanted to be in Augsburg.” In the friendly against M’gladbach, Mads already showed his abilities and wants to play in front of the fans in the WWK arena as soon as possible: “Our aim is to get off to the best start and maintain that trajectory. Personally I hope that I can make my debut quickly and play as many games as I can.”
