Kömür on the scoresheet, cameo appearance for Labrović
Internationals round-up
A number of FC Augsburg players were away with their national sides during the international break. Here is a final round-up of their matches.
Mert Kömür and Germany U20s hosted Ghana in Wuppertal on Monday. The FCA academy product came on at the break and scored a lovely solo goal in the 79th minute, Germany’s last goal in a 5-0 win.
Nediljko Labrović, who wasn’t part of the original Croatia squad, surprisingly featured in their 3-3 draw against Poland. He had to come off the bench in the 81st minute after starting goalkeeper Dominik Livaković was sent off. Kristijan Jakić didn’t play.
Steve Mounié played the full game in Benin’s 2-1 defeat to Rwanda. Samuel Essende wasn’t used in DR Congo’s 2-0 victory over Tanzania, while Frank Onyeka’s match with Nigeria against Libya was postponed.
Rexhbecaj back in Augsburg
Elvis Rexhbecaj was suspended for Kosovo’s 3-0 win against Cyprus and was therefore already back in training on Tuesday in Augsburg. FCA’s assistant coach Lars Knudsen guided Denmark to a 2-2 draw in Switzerland as their interim coach.
Chrislain Matsima didn’t get any minutes for France U21s in their 2-1 loss against Austria. Noahkai Banks again started for USA U20s, though he couldn’t prevent a 2-1 defeat in Chile.
