Hinteregger: "We can hold our own against anyone"

First Team 11.10.2017, 12:10
FCA's Martin Hinteregger had to finish his international break with Austria prematurely due to an inflammation in his ankle. Saturday's fixture against TSG Hoffenheim is not far away but Hinteregger is hopeful he can feature. Austria's hopes of qualifying for the 2018 World Cup were over before both international fixtures this weekend against Serbia and Moldova. Despite that, Hinteregger was looking forward to playing for his country but an inflammation in his ankle prevented him from taking part. "Of course, I'm very disappointed to have to watch my teammates play on TV", said the defender. The inflammation which took place towards the end of last season has returned once again. After a few days break, the number 36 hopes to be back in contention and that "the inflammation goes away and I can train without any niggles". The 25-year-old started off the week with light training and the decision as to whether he'll be a part of the weekend's game will be decided after Wednesday and Thursday's training sessions.

Hinteregger: "We want to force Hoffenheim to play our game"

Hinteregger is looking forward to a tough battle against TSG Hoffenheim: "Everyone knows that we can compete with any opponent and have a good go." The centre back is confident after Augsburg's good start to the season that FCA can take something from the game against the Europa League side. "We want to make them play our game and then we'll see what happens", said the Austrian.
