FCA sign centre forward Mergim Berisha
Striker signs on loan basis with buy option

FC Augsburg have secured the services of striker Mergim Berisha. The centre forward will be on loan at FCA from Turkish club Fenerbache till the end of the season. Augsburg have an option-to-buy on the 24-year-old, who can boast six goal contributions (four goals, two assists) in six games in the Champions League for RB Salzburg, as well as three goals in six games in the Europa League for Fenerbache. In 2021, Berisha won the U-21 European Championship with Germany.
“I am very pleased that this move to FCA has come off. Ultimately, it has always been a huge dream of mine to play in the Bundesliga. The environment at Augsburg is ideal and I already know some players from my time with the U-21s, so I’m sure it won’t take me long to settle in and I already can’t wait to make my first appearance at the WWK ARENA,” said Mergim Berisha, who scored 22 competitive goals in total for RB Salzburg in the 2020/21 season.
