FCA players on international duty
The end of the international break draws closer
Four FCA players recently featured for their national teams, as Frederik Winther and Lasse Günther were named in their side’s starting line-up once again.
Lasse Günther earned his second start and appearance for Germany U19s as they drew 1-1 against England in an international friendly.
Frederik Winther started for Denmark U21s in their 1-0 victory over Kazakhstan in their U21 European Championship qualifying campaign, and the win leaves the Danes second in Group I.
Michael Gregoritsch came on as a 57th-minute substitute for Austria but could not help to turn the tide of the match as they suffered a 1-0 defeat in their World Cup qualifier against Scotland. Austria are now in fourth place in qualifying group F with six points.
Fredrik Jansen was substituted on against France in the 74th minute of Finland’s World Cup qualifier against the world champions, but “Les Bleus” came out as 2-0 winners, leaving Finland in third place in qualifying group D.
Two more Augsburg players are in action on Wednesday 8th September, as Swiss national squad members Ruben Vargas and Andi Zeqiri face Northern Ireland in their World Cup qualifier. A win would ensure Switzerland remain in second place in their group, and it would increase the gap to the teams below them to five points.
