FCA players having success during international break
Numerous victories on Friday and Saturday
Friday and Saturday’s international fixtures brought FCA’s first-team players pleasurable results and lots of game time.
On Friday, Steve Mounié headed in to make it 1-0 to Benin, paving the way for a 3-0 win over Rwanda, in which he played the full 90 minutes. Frank Onyeka played 61 minutes as Nigeria earned a 1-0 victory over Libya. Mert Kömür featured for Germany U20s, who won 3-1 against Poland. Chrislain Matsima did not feature in France U21s 3-1 victory against Cyprus.
There were also lots of positive results of FCA players on international duty on Saturday. Elvis Rexhbecaj played every minute and helped Kosovo to a 2-1 victory over Lithuania. Noahkai Banks started for USA U20s who won 3-0 in an international friendly against Chile. Croatia picked up a 2-1 victory against Scotland. Kristijan Jakić was brought on in the closing minutes whilst Nediljko Labrović, who was called up to the squad on his birthday, watched on from the bench.
Knudsen’s Denmark lose to Spain
FCA assistant coach Lars Knudsen is currently operating as interim head coach of the Denmark national team. Despite narrowly losing 1-0 in Spain, his side put it a good performance as he tasted defeat for the first time during his tenure.
