FCA players feature on international duty
Two debutants
Over the last few days, seven FC Augsburg players were in action with their respective national sides. Frederik Winther and Lasse Günther made their debuts for the Denmark and Germany youth sides.
Winther was in the starting XI as he made his debut for Denmark U21s in a 1-1 draw against Greece U21s on Friday. On Tuesday, Winther will come up against Kazachstan in another qualifer for the 2023 U21 EUROs.
Meanwhile, Lasse Günther made his debut for Germany U19s and was in the starting line-up in a 1-0 win against Switzerland. Günther was taken off at half-time. Next up, Germany U19s will face England on Monday (6/9).
Michael Gregoritsch was an unused substitute in Austria's World Cup qualifier against Israel. Austria suffered a 5-2 defeat and are now in fourth in their group. They will now face Scotland on Tuesday.
Fredrik Jensen was subbed on in the 80th minute of Finland's World Cup qualifier against Kazachstan, which ended in a 1-0 win for the Finns. They will now face reigning World champions France on Tuesday.
Ruben Vargas and Andi Zegiri both featured for Switzerland in their 0-0 draw against current European champions Italy. Vargas was subbed on in the 63rd minute, with Zegiri coming on in the 86th minute. Their next match will be against Northern Ireland on Wednesday.
Carlos Gruezo and Ecuador celebrated a 2-0 win over Paraguay last Thursday, before drawing 0-0 with Chile on Sunday (5/9). Gruezo played the full 90 minutes in both games. This Thursday, they will come up against two-time World champions Uruguay in their next World Cup qualifier.
